Goa

Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a union territory of the republic of India. This island was later used as a penal colony during the British occupation of India. When though today Andaman and Nicobar Islands are one of the most demand tourist destination of India. The islands are famous for its serene, white sandy beaches characterized by sparkling blue waters. Kodaikanal

Hampi

Hampi is famous for ancient temples, forts and other monuments. Hampi is capital of vijayanagar and it is the second largest city in the world at that time. It is located on the banks of Tungabhadra. Hampi is famous for massive, beautifully carved temples especially like Virupaksha temple. Hampi was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986 and lot of efforts have been taken to restore the lost glory of the historical place. The Virupaksha temple is the most important building in Hampi. Other places are Vijayavittala temple, elephant stables, Hampi Bazar, Monolith Bull,Old Palace, Matanga Hill, Archeological Museum, Lotus Palace,Hazara Rama temple, Lakshmi Narasimha temple which are build in Vijayanagara style of architecture.

Nandi hills

Nandi hills is also called as Nandi Betta which is located in Chikabalapur district of Karnataka, and it is 4851 feet above sea level.According to the some sources the name Nandi Hills originated from the shape of a hill, which resembles a sleeping bull. During Chola rule, it was known as Ananda Giri, meaning ‘The Hill of Happiness’. Moreover, the place is associated with Yoga Nandeeshwara, who performed penance. Nandi Hills has moderate climatic conditions round the year; therefore, it can be visited any time of the year. It is woonderful place to visit for Nature lovers.

Mysore

Mysore is located in the Karnataka state around 140 km from Bangalore. The word Mysore expands to “Mahishasurana Ooru” which means the town of Mahishasura. The story goes that the demon Mahishasura was killed by goddess Chamundeshwari a top the Chamundi hill near Mysore, hence the name. The Mysore Palace is one of the best place to visit in Mysore. It was built over one thousand years ago, in AD 897.  Some of the beautiful places to  visit in Mysore are Chamundi hills, Mysore Zoo,St. Philomena’s Church,Krishna Raja Sagar Dam,Ranganathittu, Somnathpur.

Hogenakkal Falls

The Hogenakkal Falls are located on river Kaveri in the Dharmapuri district of Tamil Nadu. Hogenakkal is also one of the best waterfalls and one of the wonderful tourist places to visit near Bangalore & Chennai. It is about 180km from Bangalore and 46 km from Dharmapuri town, Hogenakkal is famous for medicinal baths and hide boat rides. The river water is said to have some special powers as it travels through the forests filled with herbal plants and shrubs so it have medicinal power. According to some sources that the freshly fried fish served by the village women at a shore during the boat ride is a highlight of the Hogenikal.

Pondicherry

Pondicherry is also known as Puducherry.It is also nick named as ” French colony of South “. Since this area was under the control of French till 1954, the culture of people is come from french. Many colonial buildings, churches, statues and the systematic town planning by the French and is often called the Europe of India because of its town planning. Famous places to visit in Pondicherry are Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville,Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Promenade Beach, Ousteri Wetland and National Park, Basilica Of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus, Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Botanical Garden, French War Memorial and Pondicherry Museum.

Coorg – Karnataka

Coorg is officially known as Kodagu , it is the most beautiful hill station in Karnataka. It is a popular tourist destination and a treasure of scenic beauty. It is located at the distance 260kms from Bangalore. Kochi

Madurai Meenakshi Temple

Meenakshi Temple is the most beautiful example of the Dravidian architecture. It is the main attraction of the city and pilgrims come to the place in the search of spirituality and peace. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarer. Madurai is the same city where Lord Sundareswar (Shiva) appeared to marry Goddess Meenakshi (Parvati). Meenakshi Temple is considered as one of the most sacred places of Parvati, other being Kamakshi at Kanchipuram, Akilandeswari at Thiruvanaikaval and Vishalakshi at Varanasi. Meenakshi Amman Temple is located centrally in Madurai and the lotus-shaped city surrounds it completely. It is the largest and the oldest temple in Madurai.

Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari is located at the southern tip of India. It is known for its beautiful beaches, Vivekananda Memorial and the ever-so perfect sunset. The town gets its name from the Hindu goddess Kanyakumari, who has a temple dedicated to her here. Kanyakumari is most unique place where you can watch sunrise and sunset at the same spot. Vivekananda rock is more of a sacred monument dedicated to one of the most famous spiritual leaders “Swami Vivekananda”. Thiruvalluvar statue is situated near Vivekananda rocks for the memorial of his tamil literature.

Charminar

Char minar is most famous Historical place of Hyderabad, Andhra pradesh. It is located at the heart of Hyderabad’s main bazaar area  crowded with shops, stalls, markets and shoppers. It was built by the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah  in the 1591 century. He built that when he shifted his capital golkunda to Hyderabad. Charminar is constructed in Islamic architecture. It has a square structure of 20 * 20 meter size. Charminar contains four arches each of them opens in four streets. And because of these four pillars it is named charminar.

Golconda

Golconda Fort was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Golconda and it is ruined in the 14th to 16th century. It is situated 11 kilometers from Hyderabad, Telangana. It is also known as Golkonda Fort or Golla Konda Fort.Golconda fort has a very beautiful architecture and it is one of the most famous historical places of India. It attracts too many visitors from different parts of India and also world. Tourists loves to visit this place. After char minar in Hyderabad , Golconda Fort is the 2nd Most Famous place of Hyderabad.

Hussain Sagar Lake

The Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the popular landmarks and important tourist destinations in the city of Hyderabad. It is located 2kms from the center of Hyderabad city, that connects to secundarabad and hyderabad. It is the largest artificial lake in India. This lake was built during the period of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah by Hussain Shah Wali in 1562 AD. Hussain Sagar Lake, built on the tributary of the River Musi, had been of significance in the early days since it connected the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The best time to visit the Hussain Sagar Lake is from October to March and it is open on all days of the week.

Araku Valley

 

Araku Valley is most magnificant place in Andra Pradesh. It is a famous hill station located in Vishakapatanam city of Andra Pradesh. It is famous for coffee plantation, and covered by greens all around the forest. The natural beauty of this valley attracts tourist all over the world. The valley is perfect for a trekking or to just enjoy a relaxed vacation taking in the beautiful view of the valley around. There are few waterfalls nearby this place. The Sangda waterfalls is one such beautiful waterfall. The perfect time to visit this place will be in the month of October to March during this period weather is perfect for trekking.
