Hampi is one of the best historical place in the world. It is a village located in north Karnataka and was a capital of Vijayanagara empire. Hampi has most significant buildings and places that explains architectural importance of Vijayanagar kingdom. It is located on the banks of river Tungabhadra in Karnataka. The Virupaksha temple is the most important building in Hampi. Other places are Vijayavittala temple, elephant stables, Hampi Bazar, Monolith Bull,Old Palace, Matanga Hill, Archeological Museum, Lotus Palace,Hazara Rama temple, Lakshmi Narasimha temple which are build in Vijayanagara style of architecture. Badami got its name from Chalukyas and it is famous for stone temples, rock monuments. Badami is mythologically known as vatapi. Chalukya king pulakeshi built a fort at vatapi and made it as capital. Most of the building in Badami represent Dravidian architectural style. The best places to visit in Badami are Badami cave temples, Bhutanatha group of temples, Mallikarjuna group of temples, badami fort, Malegitte shivalaya.
Pattadakallu is located on the banks of river Malaprabha in the Bagalkot district. Pattadakallu is 22kms far from Badami. There are 10 major temples in Pattadakal, all are dedicated to Lord Shiva. All these temples are built in Dravidian and Nagara architectural style. 4 temples are constructed in Dravidian style and 4 are in Nagara style. Rest 2 temples are constructed in both Dravidian and Nagara style. The temples are Virupaksha temple, Jain temple, Kashi Vishwanatha temple, Galaganath temple, Sangameshwara temple, Mallikarjuna temple, Papanatha temple.

The Hoysaleswara temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is built on a star shaped platform. The Kedareswara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is built in Chalukya style.
Chitradurga is the district in Karnataka which is Known for historical “Chitradurga Fort”.Chitradurga fort witnessed history from the period of Chalukyas empire and famous for the legend of Onake Obawa. Chitradurga fort is also known as Yelu Suthina Kote, which is protected by seven circular walls. Shravanabelagola is one of the most popular Jain piligrimage in India. This place is famous for Bahubali statue which is of height 58 feet. This statue is uilt on the top of hill Vindyagiri.There are 620 steps are provided to reach the statue. The statue was carved during the period of Chamundaraya. Shravanabelagola is also famous for several Jain temples and historical sites. Jog falls is the one of the highest waterfall in India located in Shimoga district of Karnataka State. It is situated on the Shimoga and Uttara Kannada district border. It is a major tourist attraction. The waterfall is locally known as Geruoppe Falls, Gersoppa Falls and Jogada Gundi. Sharavathi river comes down in 4 different falls known as Raja, Rani, Rover and Rocket. These four cascades merge to fall a huge waterfall. The best time to visit Jog Falls is from August to January while the peak season is from September to December. Usually it takes half day to visit Jog Falls.
