Murudeshwar Beach – Of Temples
The Statue of Lord Shiva in Murudeshwara is the second biggest statue of the world.This temple is the Huge Statue of Lord Shiva, 130 ft high.The statue and temple are located on the beach in Murudeshwara, which lies on the Arabian Sea coastal line. Belur and Halebidu
Belur is about 4 hours from Bangalore, Halebidu (Hale’beedu) literally means “the ruined city”. It was then known as Dwarasamudra (gateway to the seas). Gokarna called as Dhakshina Kashi,because this place has the Atma-Linga of Lord Shiva.Gokarna means in Kannad language it’s Cow’s Ear. It is believed that Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow here. It is at the ear-shaped confluence of two rivers Gangavali and Aghanashini.Gokarna is a town of contrasts, as it is a temple town and also a holiday destination by the sea.Gokarna is an ancient temple town and centre for Sanskrit studies. Gol Gumbaz, also known as Gol Gumbad is a mausoleum of Muhammad Adil Shah, who was the Sultan of Bijapur.It is a Indo-Islamic architectural style, The mausoleum includes a mosque, a dharamshala, a Naqqar Khana and a gateway. The most interesting feature of the Gol Gumbaz is the gallery around the base of the dome which can be accessed through any of the four towers at the corners of the building. This gallery is known as the whispering gallery because even the lightest sound or a whisper can be carried forward and heard by someone standing at the farthest distance from you in the dome.It is located at a distance of 2km in Bijapur, Karnataka. Talacauvery is situated in the Brahmagiri hill. Dakshin Kashi is another name given to Talakaveri temples. Talakaveri lies about 1276 metres above the sea level. Bhagamandala is the meeting of three rivers and is also referred to as Triveni Sangam. The temple was constructed for Lord Agastheeswara.. A small spring of water begin from this place hence it called as Talacauvery.The talacauvery place marked as Tirth Kundike at this holy place a big tank and a shrine that have been constructed close to the Tirth Kundike.The devotees take a bath in the holy waters of Talakavery.
